Summer’s amazing number of events & activities eventually wind down as kids go back to school & families head home. But the best secret is that after the crowds leave, the weather is perfect & the fun continues. Concerts at the Ford Amphitheater, the Vail Film Festival (August 15-18), Gourmet on the Gore (Labor Day weekend) & Oktoberfest (in September!) are a few of the activities that keep everyone busy.
Real estate continues to pick up steam with 166 residential sales from July to the present, five of which were over $3 million. This compares to 151 homes sold in the same period last year. And mortgage rates are the lowest since November 2016, which should incentivize buyers who’ve been on the fence.
Also of note is the 2nd Quarter Mountain Resort Market Analysis. This report compares Eagle County to the six other Colorado resort markets of Garfield, Grand, Pitkin, Routt, San Miguel and Summit County. Summit County leads all areas in total number of transactions with 972 year to date, followed by Eagle County with 865. Eagle County leads all areas in total dollar volume, followed by Pitkin County (Aspen) with $895M, per the graph below.

Please contact me if you have questions about specific areas of Eagle County & beyond, or would like more detailed information about Vail Valley real estate. Life is good in the mountains!
All the best, Carolyn
