The Vail Valley is never more beautiful than in the fall, when broad swaths of orange and gold decorate the mountains ahead of winter’s white blanket.
As the seasons change, so does real estate. The latest figures for Eagle County show a 25% decrease in dollar volume in August compared to 2017’s, although year-to-date volume is only 4% off, and the number of sales are about the same as last year.
There have been 22 sales since August 1 above $2.5M, including a $9,250,000 home in Vail, a $8.2M residence in Spraddle Creek and a $8.2M home at the Chateau in Beaver Creek. The average price per square foot was $1039, compared to last year’s $988/square foot during the same period.
August’s highest price per square foot sale was $1732 located in Vail’s Northwoods. This sought-after development, featuring ski-in/ski-out access and many amenities, has an exceptional contemporary residence for sale.
